New Site.. Again

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. - George Santayana

It seems that I’ve been doomed to repeat history here. Throughout the years I’ve used a few different platforms for hosting my site blog.

The ones that come to mind are Wordpress, Tumblr, Rails, and the latest being a set of scripts using Pandoc.

For a while I actually had two sites. My main “about me” hosted at caleb.io and a blog at dentafrice.com.

At the start of 2015 I was using a version of Jekyll with bootstrap. It was clunky and required me to spend too much time actually figuring out how to create a new post.

I ended up creating a set of scripts to compile markdown into HTML. It was a bit too simple and started limiting me in what I was able to do.

One of my goals of 2015 was to start writing more. In order for me to do that I need a low friction way to create entries in my public blog.

As of today I’ve since moved back to Jekyll and have setup an easy to use infrastructure to enable me to write posts quickly and push them up with ease (git post receive hook).

Hopefully now that I have an easier to use platform I’ll stick to my goal of writing more this year.
